Dead Poster
A wanted poster: “Wanted… worth more dead than alive.” Is this the modern religious message?
I always thought a Spiritual teacher is worth more alive than dead, since they teach the people how to know God with their gospel of truth and light.
And Christ said that God sent him to preach the Gospel in Luke 4:43 (he was sent to preach the kingdom Gospel-more context on my biography). So he was sent to earth to preach the truth and bring the light of God with his teachings.
But oddly enough, modern theologians have decided to say that the real value in Christ’s mission was not in his teachings, but in his suffering and death!
So was he worth more dead than alive? I don’t think so, but what do you think?
I would agree with you. The stress seems to be on Christ’s sufferings, with emphasis on the fact that he did it for us, as if a guilt-trip is necessary to gain followers. I’m not religious, but it makes more sense to me to celebrate the life we have and what Christ has offered instead of being bound by a sense of guilt and unworthiness. If you truly don’t believe you deserve the gift of eternal life, than maybe it’s time to stop condemning others and feeling sorry for yourself, and to start living your life here on Earth in Christ.
