How has the rule of Britain in Hong Kong effected Hong Kong’s relationship with the rest of the world today?
Just need some help with this question for grade 10 Modern History. It is part of a debate for my term assessment. I need to know how the rule of Britain has effected Hong Kong’s relationships with the rest of the World, particularly China (especially in the social/economic/political aspects) since 1997 when Britain’s rule fell.
Please help if you can!
since china is a communist/socialist economic system, their economy wasnt as strong as the rest of the world. with britain [capitalist] was ruling hong kong, it gave the chinese an opening into major world buisness and trade. socialist regims are smaller economies because the govt runs everything and there is no room for growth. in the capitalist system, there is compatition involed so buisneses are always looking to expand. therefore, when hong kong was returned to the chinese it gave them a huge buisness and trading market with the rest of the world thus making china one of the worlds fastest growing economies.
